New Electronic Invoices Coming Soon

This month, STRS Ohio will begin sending electronic invoices to employers via email. Because most employer payments are made electronically, we are starting to phase out mailing paper invoices. Examples of employer invoices include penalties and interest on late payroll reports and payments, employer contributions for purchase service credit, workshop fees and state foundation monthly shortages. The main contact at your school will receive an email notification when an invoice is available.

For invoices that contain calculations or member names and information such as purchase service credit and workshop fees, you can view complete invoice details by logging in to Employer Self Service (ESS) and clicking on “Documents” at the top of the page.

If an invoice is not paid by the due date, schools that participate in the state foundation program — including city schools, local schools (aside from county offices), exempted village schools and community schools — will have the invoice amount deducted from foundation funds..
