Benefit Pay Dates

Benefits are automatically deposited to your bank account on the first banking day of each month, which is usually the first day of the month, unless that day falls on a holiday or weekend. Below are the first banking days when payments will be posted to benefit recipients’ accounts. You can access your monthly, year-to-date and previous year’s benefit payment information by accessing your Online Personal Account.

Direct deposit

All benefit recipients who live in the United States must receive their benefit payment through direct deposit to a bank account. This eliminates the higher costs of processing paper checks, and more importantly, ensures the safe, reliable and timely delivery of monthly payments to our benefit recipients.

If a care facility is a court appointed guardian of the estate or the representative payee, the facility can direct the payment to a bank account. The facility must provide court documentation to STRS Ohio that states they are the representative payee.

To change your direct deposit account information, log in to your Online Personal Account, click the “Recipient Account” tab and then click “Change Direct Deposit Information” under the Useful Links section.
